Blade services

Craftsmanship for optimal aerodynamic performance

Blade maintenance is essential for ensuring the efficient operation of wind turbines. By bringing the rotor blades into perfect condition and keeping them that way, the turbine’s production yield is increased and ultimately greater efficiency is achieved. We prefer to combine blade maintenance with other repairs or maintenance. This way, the turbine is not out of service for an unnecessarily long time. Inspection, maintenance and repair of rotor blades for all brands of wind turbines? Iver is the right place for you.

Curious about what we can do for your round blades?

Specialist team

Iver’s blade engineers are qualified specialists in blade maintenance. Our team is GBS Blade Repair L3 certified, works according to IRATA rules and follows the so-called Sky Climber training courses. Our experts are flexible and can be deployed quickly. What’s more, they have all the materials they need at their disposal to provide blade services of the highest standard.

We ensure that wind turbines are in perfect condition every day. In this way, we contribute to optimal returns for our clients.”

Inspections

We carry out inspections cost-effectively using our telescopic inspection system or rope access techniques. This saves us time and money compared to traditional methods such as aerial work platforms and skyclimbers.

Telescopic inspection system
The telescopic inspection system enables quick and accurate inspection from the ground. Using a tripod, HD camera on a motorised robot head and a laptop, our experts capture every detail. The findings are recorded in a detailed report with clear recommendations for maintenance or repair.

Preventive maintenance and repair

Preventive maintenance

Iver is also the right place for rotor blade maintenance. Just like wind turbines, rotor blades require periodic maintenance. Preventive maintenance saves a lot of maintenance costs, noise pollution and major consequential damage. It also improves the efficiency of the turbine. You can include this in your normal maintenance contract or enter into a special maintenance contract with us for blade service. In addition to blade maintenance, we also carry out tower maintenance.

Repair

Damage to rotor blades is common. Examples include damage caused by lightning, wear and tear, and erosion. During repairs, any holes, cracks, breaks, and/or manufacturing defects are repaired. In addition, damage to the technical part of the blade can be repaired, such as repairs to the tip flange, tip cables, and adjustment of the tip mechanism. The installation, blade optimisation and replacement of the tip receptors on the lightning protection system can also be taken care of. Our specialists also write a detailed report on repairs with findings and recommendations.
